Gail Aldrich of Carson City, Nevada, is an
experienced professional with membership
organizations and the insurance and
professional services industries. Ms. Aldrich
serves on the Board Member Value Social
Impact Committee. She is principal of the
Aldrich Partnership. Previously, she was chief membership
officer for the Society for Human Resource Management,
senior vice president and chief administrative officer
for the California State Automobile Association and vice
president of human resources and corporate secretary of
the company now known as Exponent. She serves on the
boards of Lifeprint, which helps low-income women secure
employment, and Lytton Gardens, which provides health
care and housing options to low-income seniors.
Allen Douma
Allen Douma, M.D., is a physician and
business professional from Ashland, Oregon.
He serves on the Board Audit and Finance
Committee and AARP’s National Policy
Council. He had also served on AARP’s
Oregon Executive Council. Dr. Douma
is chief executive officer of Empower, LLC. Previously
he was assistant director of the Oregon Department of
Human Services; chief executive officer (CEO) of Health
Responsibility Systems and medical director for the
Hartford and Travelers insurance companies. His current
volunteer activities include service as a board member for
the Southern Oregon University Advisory Board and the
Oregon Healthcare Quality Corporation.
Cora L. Christian
Cora Christian, M.D., MPH, of Frederiksted,
Virgin Islands, has the distinction of being
the first native female of the U.S. Virgin
Islands to become a medical doctor. She
serves on the Board Governance Committee
and as a trustee on the AARP Insurance
Trust. Dr. Christian founded the Virgin Islands Medical
Institute, Inc. and currently serves as the Health Care Quality
Improvement Medical Director. She is also chief medical
consultant to Hovensa, LLC. This practicing family physician
is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians’
Commission on Government and Legislative Affairs.
Leobardo Estrada
Leobardo Estrada, PhD, is a professor from
Playa del Rey, California. He serves on the
Board Audit and Finance Committee and on
the AARP Services’ Board of Directors. This
professor at the University of California/
Los Angeles previously served as an advisor
on national data systems for the U.S. Census Bureau, the
National Center for Health Statistics and the National
Research Council, among others. His social science expertise
includes the demography of Latinos in the U.S. Dr. Estrada
serves on the boards of the National Association of Hispanic
Elderly, New Economics for Women and the National
Association of Child Care Resources and Referral Agencies.
A. James Forbes, Jr.
Jim Forbes is a financial executive from
Putnam Valley, New York. He serves on the
Board Audit and Finance Committee and as
a trustee on the AARP Insurance Trust. He
previously served as audit chair and treasurer
for the AARP Foundation Board of Directors.
A financial executive partner of Tatum, LLC, Mr. Forbes
previously was executive vice president and chief financial
officer of Lighthouse International; managing director and
founder of Med Yield, Inc.; executive vice chairman and
chief financial officer of AmeriCares and accounting and
operations controller of Mercedes-Benz, N.A. As a volunteer,
he also chaired the Beacon Foundation board, founded the
Connecticut-based Executive Forum and worked with the
YMCA.
William J. Hall
Bill Hall, M.D., is a physician, professor and
geriatric specialist from Rochester, New
York. He serves on the Board Governance
Committee and as a trustee on the AARP
Insurance Trust. Dr. Hall is director of
the Center for Healthy Aging. Previously,
he served as chief of general medicine/geriatrics at the
University of Rochester School of Medicine and as
chief of medicine at Rochester General Hospital. He has
testified on numerous health issues before Congress and
federal agencies. His honors include the Kaiser Award
for Exceptional Service from the Rochester Academy of
Medicine and the Jahnigen Award for outstanding education
contributions from the American Geriatrics Society.
