Most of us can agree that Rep.
Paul Ryan, R-Wis., is proposing Medicare changes that are
politically untenable [“New
Medicare Voucher Plan Draws
Fire,” In the News]. However,
it is unreasonable to take the
position that no cuts or cost
controls should be imposed.
AARP is uniquely positioned
to become an honest broker on
this topic. Surely you can iden-
tify at least a few provisions
of Medicare that are wasteful,
inefficient or inappropriate.
