Here’s to You, Mr. Hoffman
In 1967 I was an 18-year-old cashier
at the Coronet theater in Manhattan,
and The Graduate was the feature film.
Dustin Hoffman would often come by
and ask, “How we doin’?” When I in-
formed him about the sold-out shows,

ever-changing workforce.

Democracy at Any Age
Reading about the work of Roger

reminded me of two seventysome-thing citizens who knocked on our
door during the campaign and urged
us to vote for Obama. His election is
due to the efforts of every generation
pounding the pavement.
