Happy Days
TKCREDT
I am so thrilled with Ron Howard’s suc-
cess and his down-to-earth way of deal-
ing with it. I’ve been a fan of his since he
was a child actor. In a time when money,
power, and eternal youth are thriving in
Hollywood, Ron has stayed true to him-
self and his core beliefs. He is a rational and realistic
man with a huge talent and heart to match.
I felt I was among friends. When I
bought my 1994 Ford Taurus wagon,
it had 45 miles on it. Now it has more
than 262,000 miles. We’ve come a
long way, baby! How have I done this?
By following the tips highlighted in
your article.

Online Obsession
Even after reading “Confessions of
a Facebook Addict,” I still don’t get
the obsession. I guess I would rather
hear a live voice than read a typed
message. I hold my close friends near,
dear, and offline.
Reading about Ron Howard reminds
us of the time we were at Martha’s
Vineyard, and Ron and his wife were
staying at the same inn. One night
they came into the restaurant where
we were dining and the waitress
screamed, “Opie!” After that, whenever we saw Ron, he was wearing a
baseball cap pulled down, [presum-ably] so he couldn’t be recognized.

Exploding the Myths
One glaring omission in Karen
Cheney’s “ 8 Myths About Health
Care Reform” is the unhealthiness
of the American population. The
United States holds the shameful
distinction of being the fattest nation
on earth. Joining obesity are many
complications such as diabetes and
cancer. You can throw all the money
in the world at this problem, but until
the issues of sedentary lifestyle and
poor diet are addressed, the health
care crisis is going to explode, not
get better.
